*There is a big dirt pile in the starting field now, due to construction the college is doing. The course goes around it but it cuts significantly into the area for teams to set up their tents. A few teams will still be able to use the field but many will have to use the soccer field (the upper field that is run on after passing by the track). Since the course goes through that field as well, please remind your runners to always watch the course while they are near your tent area. *Course changes: the course is pretty much identical to last year with 2 exceptions: the dirt pile mentioned above changes how far into the field we run, and then after the u-turn by the pond, runners go back into the starting field via the first entrance on their left, not the 2nd one we've used the last few years. It will be clearly marked on Saturday. *Just a reminder about the canned food drive. Please encourage your runners to bring canned goods and drop them off at the tent that will be near the entrance. This is in honor of Tajay Hoppines, former Mill Creek Runner who passed away last year, and Hope McKenzie, daughter of former Shiloh XC Coach Willie McKenzie, who passed also passed away last year. All cans will go to a co-op that supports needy families. The team with the most donated goods will receive a plaque. *Runners should not go near the finish line with their chip on before their race. If they are cheering on teammates in another race but have their chip on, they will show up in that race and skew the results. Also, runners should not lace their chip through their shoelaces, but instead use the zip ties that are provided (they will be better ties than we used last year). If for some reason a runner loses a chip during the race, a coach should make sure to notify Phil Logan at the timer's tent. *Use your GHSA pass to access the Coaches Hospitality tent for breakfast and/or lunch. We will have BBQ this year so don't miss it! Bus drivers can also access the tent if they show their driver credentials.

[quote=coachac]* "they will be better ties than we used last year)." @coachac Perfect Timing did chips at Furman/Gene Mullin last week and they were very flimsy. A Some broke when putting them on runners shoes and several fell off during the race. Ask for something other than the small clear dot ties, they look like something you would get at the Dollar Tree.

@WayneCounty Those are nice but more expensive. It is a better fit for us to use chips.
