Several Highlights at Stanner

New York, NY - It was a more relaxed feel at the  Stanner Games this year, without Edward Cheserek setting any national records like last year.  But there was still quality in the masses, with one girl and one boys a piece having very notable performances.

For the girls, Emma Gallagher (Garden City) unleashed a performance in the 600m that threatened a national record.  Her mark of 1:30.97 is US #18 All-Time, as well as NY #3 All-Time for a sophomore.  Gallagher already holds the 8th and freshmen state record for the event, but the Sophmore and Junio record are something special.  Those marks equal the US #2 and #3 All-Time marks, both sub-1:30.  Gallagher is sure on the path to nabbing each, which is not an easy accomplishment.  Also running well was Jazmine Fray of Kellenberg, who went US #3 in the 1000m, running 2:55.77.

For the boys, Sibby Hanson (Arlington) put on a show in the 3200m.  Running amidst the pack, Hanson pulled out an extra kick in the last 200m to take US #2 in the event.  Behind him was Shoreham-Wading River's Ryan Udvadia, who went US #7 in 9:22.
