40th Annual Manhattan Invitational Boys Letter Race Preview

Saturday, October 13, 2012 --- Van Cortlandt Park --- 12:51 PM to 2:03 for 7 Races

Overview

Along with the championship Eastern States race, the Manhattan Invite will also include 7 other boys' varsity races identified with letters from A to F, and starting every 12 minutes. More than 230 teams will be running in the varsity letter races. The statistics included below use the TR speed ratings f or NY teams, and where possible they are also included for runners from out of state. Team position for out of state teams are estimated from state rankings and ratings.

Overall, race F looks like it should be especially competitive, with Lowell of MA facing off against Rush-Henrietta and Warwick Valley. The top rated guy could be Marcellus's Ryan Manahan, but there are a number of outstanding runners from outside of NY who I was not able to get TRs for, and Lowell's Patrick Coppinger should be one to watch.

Numbers in parentheses following teams and runners are the Tully Runner speed ratings, estimated as best as able.
