High Jump Results

DES MOINES, Iowa – Sophomore Montez Blair had many high points in his first year with the Big Red men's track team, but Thursday night was special as he competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the high jump.

Reaching a top height of 7' 1/2”, Blair took 14th place in the 24-athlete field with a height that would tie for the fourth-best mark in school history if he didn't already own the school record in the high jump.

Blair passed on the initial height of 6' 8 3/4”, and he hit his initial height of 6' 10 3/4” on his second try. The bar went up to 7' 1/2” next, and Blair soared over the bar on his first try. After three attempts at the next height of 7' 2 1/2”, though, Blair could not get over the bar and ended his college season.

Cornell's participation in the NCAA Championships concludes on Friday night when distance runner Genna Hartung races in the finals of the 3K steeplechase at 7:30 p.m.
