A Look Forward

While this weekend may have been a little quiet in New York, as most Section had their Class Championships, there was still some exciting performances.  The Class Championships conclude the team portion of the season, and now individuals are looking to shine, as State Quals for all sections occur within the week.  In anticipation of the Outdoor State Championship on June 9th-10th at Cicero-North Syracuse, athletes have to earn their ticket by finishing first in their division, or by nabbing the second spot while having hit the state standard previously(found here).  Likewise, several other athletes are punching tickets to New York, but for a little different business.  The Adidas Grand Prix is held on the same weekend as the State Meet, and looks to have compiled one of the brightest entries for both their Dream Mile and Dream 100 finals.  The most notable addition this weekend was senior Tyreek Hill of Coffee GA, who ran an unthinkable 20.14 / 10.19 double for the 200m/100m respectively yesterday.  Race videos can be found here.

For New York, we decided to look at some of the big names and big times the season has already  produced.  Below you can find out wrapup for the first half of the season for both the boys and girls performances.  Also, you can check back here tomorrow night, as we will release our preliminary Statewide Team Rankings, filtered by division, league, and overall.  Later in the week, we'll have our State Qualifier Supercenter, where you can find all the action that came out of the state.

*Note:  All matchups are hypothetical, and don't represent what will actually happen.  The teams have to make it out of the qualfier first, and may choose different events.  It is only an examination of marks this far.
