NYS Standout Maloy Returns to Her Roots

Liz Maloy states “I run because it's the best 'me time' I get—a chance to be with just my own thoughts. The chance to push myself to the absolute limit or to just enjoy being outside.”

Maloy, a 4-time NCAA All-American and 4-time Big East Champion, is currently running under the direction of the New Balance Team. Maloy has not only made an impact on the professional and collegiate levels, but was also a standout in high school as a runner for The Academy of Holy Names in NYS Section 2, one of the strongest running regions of the country. She still holds the record for the fastest Girls 1500M time in Section 2 history (4:24.26).

Maloy was a Track & Field NY State Champion and multi-event school record holder, and is now going back to her roots to help inspire future generations of runners. Through her connection with New Balance, Maloy will be the opening speaker at Pyramid Running Camp and will run alongside athletes the following morning.

With the camp administration and many campers from upstate New York, Maloy will be reconnecting with many up and coming athletes from her hometown. She will be discussing her transition from the high school to the collegiate and professional levels as a runner and PRC is excited to be able to provide campers with such an opportunity. Famous US Marathoner and inspirational speaker Dick Beardsley will join Maloy on the list of presenters for the week.
