A quick look at all the meets from the past weekend.
Albany County Kiwanis Meet
Bethlehem Central swept the individual championships behind Calvin Howard, who won the boys race in 15:00.5, and Sophia Chromczak, who took the girls race in 16:47.7. Chromczak led four Bethlehem runners into the first six scoring positions as the Eagles won the girls team title with 25 points. The boys standings came down to a single point, with Guilderland edging Bethlehem 35-36.
Bob Pratt Invitational
Emma Murphy won the girls Red race in 20:59.9, while Julia Glenz produced the fastest girls varsity time of the meet by winning Blue in 20:52.5. On the boys side, Vidal Macchia captured Red in 16:55.7 and Lucas Aguilar won Blue in 16:58.4. Hauppauge and Northport secured the Red team championships, while Bay Shore and Chaminade prevailed in Blue.
Broadalbin-Perth Invitational
Madden Richards delivered a home-course victory for Broadalbin-Perth, winning the boys 5K in 16:27.8. Kiera MacIntosh ran 18:55.3 to lead a strong Scotia-Glenville performance and secure the girls team championship with 31 points. The boys race was even closer, as Scotia-Glenville and Broadalbin-Perth both scored 49 points before Scotia-Glenville prevailed on the sixth-runner tiebreak.
Conwicke Stock Invitational
Tsadia Bercuvitz separated herself from the girls field, winning the 5K in 18:36.1. Her victory proved crucial in the team standings, where Ithaca held off Vestal by a single point, 47-48. Ashtyn Stark gave Corning the boys individual title in 16:35.3, but Vestal placed three scorers among the first four to win the team race with 44 points.
Dan Purdy Invitational
Sean Sykes led the boys field with a 16:34.9 victory and helped Horace Greeley secure the team championship with 73 points. In the girls race, Kira Waring crossed first in 18:36.4 and led Mahopac to the team title. The individual-team doubles made Horace Greeley and Mahopac the meet's leading programs.
East Aurora Invitational
Sam Clark won the large-school boys race in 14:58.11, but host East Aurora placed five runners inside the top nine and dominated the team standings with 28 points. Charlotte Winnicki captured the large-school girls race in 17:41.37, while Victor Central won the team title with 50 points. In the small-school races, Padraig Hart and Savannah Whitney earned the individual victories, with Clymer-Sherman-Panama winning the boys team title and Iroquois taking the girls championship.
ESM Invitational
Abigail Burt delivered a home victory for East Syracuse-Minoa, winning the girls 5K in 18:46.7. ESM backed her up with three scorers among the first eight and won the team championship with 58 points, six ahead of Cicero-North Syracuse. Eli Strobert led a powerful Brighton boys squad, winning in 16:08.9 as Brighton placed its five scorers among the first 14 and finished with 37 points.
Galway XC Invite
LaSalle Institute swept the individual victories, with Ebisa Gaul winning the boys 5K in 16:50.9 and Kelsey Mooney taking the girls race in 19:10.6. Gaul's victory helped LaSalle place four scorers among the first six and win the boys team championship with 37 points. Hoosic Valley captured the girls team title, defeating Schalmont 32-37.
Kota-Reis Invitational
Desmond Hill controlled the boys race, winning in 16:03.7 and leading Marcus Whitman to the team championship. Marcus Whitman placed three scorers among the first seven and finished with 55 points. Mallory Boyce captured the girls title in 19:44.9, while Odessa-Montour used its pack behind her to win the team race with 79 points.
New Hartford Invitational
Benjamin Morford won the boys 2.95-mile race in 15:48.3, but Beaver River's tightly grouped pack carried the team standings. Beaver River placed four scorers among the first nine and won with 32 points. Greta Kuhl gave Beaver River the girls individual victory in 19:07.1, helping the program complete its team-title sweep with 45 points.
Newark Invitational
Thomas Steele led a commanding McQuaid Jesuit performance, winning the boys 5K in 16:42. McQuaid placed four runners among the first six and defeated Rush-Henrietta 22-36 for the team championship. Audrey Gleghorn won the girls race in 20:28, leading Rush-Henrietta to a perfect 15-point team score.
Norwich Tornado 5000
Owen Degan ran 16:30.00 to win the boys 5K and help Afton-Harpursville-Bainbridge Guilford secure the team championship with 34 points. Olivia Beauchat captured the girls race in 20:48.36. Chenango Forks then took control of the girls team standings, placing its five scorers within the first seven scoring positions and finishing with 17 points.
Regis Invitational
Elliot Stowe covered the 2.5-mile course in 12:39.50 to win the boys varsity race. Monsignor Farrell used a balanced scoring group to win the boys team championship with 70 points. Mia Horgan captured the girls Varsity A race in 15:40.31, while Brooklyn Technical packed its five scorers within the first 17 scoring places to take the team title with 63 points.
Rivertowns XC Cup
Glen Feng earned the home-course victory for Irvington, winning the boys three-mile race in 17:56.38. Irvington placed the first two scoring runners and won the boys team championship with 46 points. Claire Grushko captured the girls race in 20:56.71, while Irvington placed all five scorers among the first nine to complete the team-title sweep with 32 points.
Somers Big Red Invitational
Avery Flynn and Pierce Biffert won the Division 1 races, leading Washingtonville and White Plains to the respective team championships. Oona McManus and Aidan See prevailed in Division 2, where Somers won the girls team title and Fox Lane captured the boys championship. Claire Miller and Evan Berardino topped Division 3, while Haddam-Killingworth swept the team titles--including a dominant 19-point showing in the boys race.
Suffern Invitational
Sayla Fives produced the fastest girls performance of the meet, winning the Open 5K in 18:27.6, while Christopher Thom led the boys in 16:09.8. Pearl River won the girls Open team title, and Thom helped Bronx Science place two runners at the front of the scoring field on its way to the boys championship. Bronx Science and Tappan Zee claimed the Varsity A titles, Tappan Zee and Clarkstown South won Varsity B, and Pearl River and North Rockland turned in decisive Division C victories.
