This Week's Nominees:
Levi Layden, Saratoga Springs (New York): Won the 800 meters at the Section 2 State Qualifier in 1:50.91, taking the victory in a field of 33 competitors. The junior sits at #1 among juniors statewide in the event.
Nathaniel Johnson, John Jay - East Fishkill (New York): Set the State Record for the Pentathlon at 4039, winning the long jump (25-3.75), high jump (6-5.5), and 110m hurdles (14.66). Also competed in the shot put, finishing 6th with a mark of 46-5.
Maxwell Kimball, Christian Brothers Academy (CBA Albany) (New York): Cleared 6-10 to win the high jump at the Section 2 State Qualifier, topping a field of 43 competitors. The junior ranks #1 among underclassmen statewide in the event.
Mack Patterson, Chenango Valley (New York): Posted victories in both throws at the Section IV State Qualifiers, launching the discus 180-6 and putting the shot 55-6.75. The junior leads the state among underclassmen in the discus and ranks #2 in his grade in the shot put.
Jaden Williams, Newburgh Free Academy (New York): Captured the triple jump at the Section 9 State Qualifier with a leap of 48-6.25, winning by a comfortable margin in the 33-athlete field. The mark places him #2 among junior triple jumpers statewide.
