ITHACA, N.Y. – For the fifth consecutive season, Nathan Taylor, the George Heekin Coach of Men's Track at Cornell, has been named the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Northeast Region Men's Coach of the Year, the organization announced on Monday. The award is voted upon by the nation's coaches.

Taylor, who won the award for the fifth straight time and sixth in his tenure at Cornell, has now earned the outdoor award in consecutive seasons after a terrific campaign in which the Big Red finished second at Outdoor Heps, fourth at the IC4A Championships and had four men qualify for the NCAA championships.

Cornell was the top ranked team in the Northeast Region all season with 44 individuals, in 20 of 21 events, qualifying for the IC4A meet. The Big Red scored 187 points at the Ivy League Championships, finishing second by 11 points. Ten athletes qualified for the NCAA's first round and four qualified for the championship's finals, including Adrien Dannemiller in the steeple, Nick Huber in the decathlon, Gary Jones in the triple jump and Nate Edelman in the 10k. Taylor coaches the jumps and combined events.
