- 4x800 Meter Relay - Bethlehem Central 7:55.08; Shenendehowa 7:57.67; Colonie 7:58.67; Shaker 8:06.26;
- 800 Meter Run - Dave Marthy of Shaker won in 1:57.70 win
- Discus - Rudy Winkler of Averill Park threw a 169-5 to win, followed by: Anthony Russo of Ballston Spa (157-11)
- Shot Put - Rudy Winkler of Averill Park launched it 52-1 to earn the top spot on the podium
Suburban Council championships marred by rain
GUILDERLAND CENTER — With a weather forecast that left little doubt there would be rain — the only questions were how hard it would fall and for how long – the Suburban Council boys track & field championships were held under less than ideal conditions on Tuesday.
Although the rain let up not long into the meet, the damage had been done. Competitors had to contend with standing water at the high jump and in the shot put ring, and the pole vault was postponed until today.
