Senior Brittany Davis finished the 3000-meter steeplechase in 12:27.08, good for second place. “She's been a really tenacious leader in that event for us for four years,” said McCowan.

The strong finishes continued for the Brewers with senior Jenica Law placing third in the 800-meter run, in 2:24.50. Marchell then led a gaggle of Brewers that finished third through sixth in the 200-meter dash in 28.39, followed by Warrick (30.02), sophomore Laura Van Eerde (30.62) and Denn (30.81).

In the 4x400-meter relay, the two Vassar teams placed first and second, with the first place team finishing 16 seconds ahead of their counterparts. Both Brewers squads were able to edge their foes from Bard College.

In the field events, Van Eerde finished second in the javelin and discuss—setting a personal best in the discus (26.89 meters). “Her throwing is fantastic, we just need to put the final touches on things to make sure we get her to the ECACs,” said McCowan.
