Warner and Williams Earn Liberty League Weekly Awards

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (May 2, 2011) – The Liberty League bestowed honors upon senior Sarah Warner of the Vassar College women's lacrosse team and freshman Chloe Williams of women's track.

In two Liberty League games last week, Warner had 11 goals and five assists. She tallied six goals with two assists in a win over Rochester and had six goals with three assists in a narrow 17-16 last second loss to William Smith. She had a .765 shots on goal percentage. This is her second consecutive weekly award and her third this season. Last year, she was named Liberty League First Team, IWLCA Empire Region First Team, ECAC Upstate Second Team. Warner graduated from the Waring School in 2007 where she was a four-year letter-winner in lacrosse, a four-time league All-Star, three-time All-League, and named League MVP in her senior year. She also graduated as Waring's all-time leading scorer.

Williams etched her name into the record books as the new school record holder in the steeplechase. At the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday, Williams earned a spot in the ECAC Championships at Moravian College on May 19. In a very competitive field, Williams finished fourth overall with an 11:53.91 performance. This is her second such award. Williams lettered four years in cross country, two in indoor track, and three in outdoor track at Saratoga Springs High School for head coaches Arthur and Linda Kranick. She competed in the Penn Relays as a sophomore.
