Several New York high school track and field athletes posted personal records at meets during the past week.
Alayuh Scantlebury (Success Academy of the Liberal Arts - Harlem) ran 12.47 in the 100 meters at the Bulldog Invite on May 16, improving from her previous best of 13.12. The sophomore's time ranks #73 in New York and #15 among sophomores statewide, finishing 6th of 119 competitors. Scantlebury also set a personal record in the 200 meters, clocking 26.94 after entering with a best of 27.72.
Kaleigha Kosek (Iroquois) cleared 5-5.25 in the high jump at the CCAA Pentathlon - Steeplechase on May 16, bettering her previous mark of 5-2 from April 2026. The junior's clearance set a school record and ranks #12 in New York and #4 among juniors, winning the event among 10 competitors. Kosek also improved her shot put personal record from 25-11 to 26-0.5 at the same meet.
Camille Gause (Gates-Chili) ran 15.05 in the 100-meter hurdles at the Gates-Chili Spartan Invite on May 16, lowering her previous best of 15.62 from May 2026. The junior's time ranks #21 in New York and #9 among juniors, winning the event among 24 competitors. Gause also recorded a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles, running 1:07.05 to improve from 1:11.02.
Alivia Roscoe (Schenectady) ran 2:20.94 in the 800 meters at the William F. Eddy Jr. Track & Field Meet on May 16, improving from her previous best of 2:26.22 set in May 2026. The time set a school record and ranks #101 in New York, finishing 10th of 32 competitors.
Eliana Banks (Averill Park) ran 10:18.55 in the 3000 meters at Ballston Spa vs Averill Park vs Burnt Hills-COED on May 12, bettering her previous mark of 10:36.81 from May 2026. The freshman's time ranks #53 in New York and #8 among freshmen statewide, winning the event among seven competitors. Banks also improved her 400-meter hurdles personal record from 1:15.19 to 1:12.93.
Amirah Arroya (Mount Vernon) threw 144-7 in the hammer throw at the Westchester County Championship on May 15, improving from her previous best of 136-0. The junior's mark ranks #3 in New York and #1 among juniors statewide, winning the event among 17 competitors. Arroya also set a personal record in the shot put, throwing 33-6 to improve from 33-1.
