This Week's Nominees:
Ka'Mara Lane, Padilla HS/SOTA/WOI (New York): Posted the top times in both sprints at the Gates-Chili Spartan Invite, clocking 11.50 in the 100 and 23.52 in the 200. She's the #1 sophomore in the state in both events. Also won the long jump with a leap of 18-4.5, ranking her #3 among New York sophomores in the event.
Ella Michelitch, Minisink Valley (New York): Cleared 6-0.5 to win the high jump at the OCIAA Championship and added a second-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 34-4.5.
Lilyana Griffin, Shaker (New York): Ran 54.83 to take the 400 meters at the William F. Eddy Jr. Track & Field Meet, making her the top freshman in New York in the event.
Mikayla Johnson, Southwestern (New York): Threw 42-4 to win the shot put at the Super 8 Best of the Best Meet and followed up with a victory in the discus at 129-10.
