COMPLETE RESULTS
Staten Island, NY – Wagner's Track & Field team hosted its annual Quad meet on Wednesday as Long and St. Francis (NY) descended on Grymes Hill. A third scheduled participant, Fairleigh Dickinson, was unable to attend due to weather conditions. At their second and final home meet of the season, the Seahawks set nine personal-bests and five season-bests.
On the women's side, the Wagner trio of
Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY / Curtis),
Danielle Diodati (Haverhill, MA / Central Catholic) and
Becca Valente (Grantham, NH / Lebanon) finished first (12.59), second (12.87) and third (12.97) in the 100 meter dash with each registering a personal-best.
Valente and junior
Francyna Evins (Staten Island, NY / Curtis) finished a mere second apart in the 400 meter run in capturing second and third place with times of 1:01.5 and 1:02.1, respectively. Valente's time set a personal-best for the rookie while Evins' mark of 1:02.1 was a season-best.
In the field, senior
Samantha Schueschner (Brookfield, CT / Brookfield) registered a personal-best toss of 35.53 meters in the discus throw while clinching top honors.
The men were led by sophomore
Alan Kopeloff (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) and junior
John Garrish, who each recorded personal-bests in the men's 100 meter dash, finishing third (11.50) and fourth (11.60), respectively. Kopeloff also set a career-best in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.34.
The Seahawks return to action this weekend at the METS Championships.
