College Park, MD – Freshman
Morgan Kaisershot (Elko, NV / Elko) captured the lone first place finish for Wagner's track and field team at the Maryland Invitational on Saturday/. The rookie Seahawk set a season-best time of 1:05.66 in the 400 meter hurdles while taking home the gold in the event. Kaisershot also finished in sixth place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.03.
The 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Kaisershot,
Jessica Balling (Seaford, NY / MacArthur),
Cameo Kirk (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) and
Francyna Evins (Staten Island, NY / Curtis) earned fifth place honors with a time of 4:07.26. Kirk also set a season-best time 2:19.33 in the 800 meter dash while finishing in ninth place.
Sophomore
Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY / Curtis) captured top-five finishes in the 100 meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump. Clinching a second place finish in the triple jump, the current record- holder in the event finished with a leap of 11.54 meters. In the long jump, the Staten Island native took home fourth place with a measurement of 5.46 meters. Earning bronze in the 100 meter hurdles, the she clocked in with a time of 15.49.
Freshman
Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) earned sixth place in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:53.98 as sophomore
Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) followed close behind in seventh place with a time of 4:55.04.
Junior
Francyna Evins (Staten Island, NY / Curtis) finished the 200 meter dash in 27.18 for seventh place as senior
Danielle Diodati (Haverhill, MA / Central Catholic) finished on her heels in 27.63 for eighth place.
In the field,
Mishelle McNamara (West Covina, CA / Covina) recorded a personal-best in the high jump with a fourth place leap of 1.52 meters, tying classmate
Kaitlin Eppinger (Union, NJ / Union Catholic Regional). Capturing third place in the pole vault, the senior Seahawk tied her season-best, clearing the bar at 3.20 meters.
Samantha Schueschner (Brookfield, CT / Brookfield) finished in sixth place in the hammer throw with a toss of 43.86 meters and seventh in the javelin with a throw of 30.75 meters.
Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH / Detroit Mercy) earned seventh place in the hammer throw, recording a measurement of 43.69 meters.
Wagner returns to action on Wednesday, April 13 when the Seahawks will host the Wagner Quad at Wagner College Stadium.
