COMPLETE RESULTS
Staten Island, NY – The Wagner Women's Track & Field team impressed the home crowd during the Wagner Invitational held on Saturday, achieving a total of 11 first place finishes, eight personal-best marks and one season-best finish as all Seahawks finished in the top 10.
Junior
Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH / Detroit Mercy) captured two top honors for Wagner in both the shot put and hammer throw events. Setting a personal-best of 47.10 meters in the hammer throw, Taylor, along with senior
Samantha Schueschner (Brookfield, CT / Brookfield), dominated the event as both Taylor and Schueschner (46.23 meters) registered marks well above the day's average. In the shot put, Taylor fell short of her personal-best with a toss of 12.34 meters.
In the discus throw, Schueschner managed to overcome Melissa Johnson of St. Francis (N.Y.) for top honors with a mark of 34.47 meters.
Junior
Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY / Curtis) finished in first place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.85 meters and second in the long jump with a measurement of 5.54 meters while senior
Mishelle McNamara (West Covina, CA / Covina) captured top honors in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.20 meters while finishing second in the high jump with a 1.47 meter clearance.
Morgan Kaisershot (Elko, NV / Elko) clocked in at 1:05.40 for a personal-best and first place finish in the 400 meter hurdles.
Cameo Kirk (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) clinched first place in the 1500 meter run while setting a personal-best of 4:54.98.
Jessica Balling (Seaford, NY / MacArthur),
Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) and Brittany O'Keefe each recorded personal-best times in the event as all four Seahawks placed in the top 10.
Rookie Alexia Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) clocked in at 18.44.03 and in first place in the 5000 meter run as sophomore
Taylor Fredrickson (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) followed in second at 18:54.04.
Kelly Dennis (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) clinched first place in the 3000 meter steeplechase finishing a mere one-tenth of a second in front of Molloy's Caitlin Breen with a time of 12:24.20.
Both the 4x100 meter relay (50.13) and the 4x800 meter relay (10:02.54) captured top honors as the 4x400 meter relay (4:17.07) fell second to St. Francis (N.Y).
Wagner is back in action on April 9 at the University of Maryland.
