Wagner Men Have Strong Performance At Fred Hardy Invite

Richmond, VA – After opening the outdoor season with a strong performance at the Richard Stockton Invitational last weekend, Wagner's men's track and field team continued to impress at the Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond, VA coming away with nine top-ten finishes.

Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep) led the Seahawks with a team-best finish of fourth place in the 1500m run with a time of 3:59.22. Following the junior Seahawk was rookie Daniel Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph's By The Sea) who finished in sixth place with a time of 3:59.41.

Colin Macdonald (Dix Hills, NY / Commack) and Faisal Abdillahi (Lewiston, ME / Lewiston) finished back-to-back in 9th and tenth place respectively in the 800m dash. Colin clocked in at 1:57.64 followed by the freshman Abdillahi with a time of 1:58.15.

Sophomore Alan Kopeloff (Staten Island, NY / Monsignor Farrell) finished in eighth place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.64 as senior Derek Schultz (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) finished the 200m dash in 23.47 for tenth place.

Rounding out the top-ten finishes, the 4x400 relay (Abdillahi, Doxey, Macdonald, Mancuso) finished in 5th place in a time of 3:32.98 as the 4x800 relay (Baio, Driscoll, Iannacone, Zaccariello) finished with a third place time of 7:57.24.

Wagner is back in action on April 1st at the Princeton Invitational before heading back to Staten Island to host the Wagner Invitational on April 2nd.
