Men's Track and Field Start Outdoor Season With Six Top Five Finishes

Pomona, NJ – The men's track and field team kicked-off the outdoor season this past weekend at the Richard Stockton Invitational. The Seahawks came away with a total of six top-five finishes and eleven top-ten finishes.

The Seahawks were able to capture three of the top five finishes in the 5000 meter run. Junior Zachary Spector finished second in the pack with a time of 15:21.93. Sophomore Matthew Driscoll followed behind for third as he crossed the finish line in 15:36.65 as senior Derek Rammelkamp trailed the heels of Driscoll for fourth clocking in at 15:36.93.

Colin Macdonald and Faisal Abdillahi finished third and fourth respectively in the 1500 meter run. Macdonald clocked in at 4:17.73 as the rookie Abdillahi finished in 4:18.14. The Seahawk 4x400 meter relay team was also able to finish in the top five with a time of 3:33.24.

Alan Kopeloff added a top-ten finish for the Seahawks as the sophomore finished seventh in the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 17.81. Also finishing in the top-ten were Michael Baio and Anthony Mancuso who added seventh and ninth place finishes in the 1500 meter run with times of 4:22.89 and 4:26.37 respectively. Rookie Daniel Zaccariello narrowly missed a top-five finish in the 5000 meter run as he finished seven-tenths of a second behind Gloucester Counties Ozzie Huerta which put him in sixth place.

In the field, John Garrish finished sixth in the hammer throw (36.32m) and ninth in the javelin throw (42.40m).

Wagner returns to action on March 25th at the Spider Relays in Richmond, VA.
