Boah Claims BIG EAST Weight Throw Title

AKRON, Ohio. – Senior Kwaku Boah, took first place in the weight throw event at the 2011 BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Stile Athletics Field House. Boah became Syracuse's first BIG EAST weight throw champion since 1991 with his heave of 19.89m.
The Baldwin, N.Y. native's throw topped the second place mark from Notre Dame's Greg Davis by .21m. His throw surpassed the IC4A qualifying mark by nearly three meters. He had previously met the qualifying mark when he broke the school record (19.93m) earlier this season.
