Several New York high school track and field athletes posted personal records at meets held April 20-25.
Anauoluwapo Agesin (Sewanhaka, Floral Park) ran 25.84 in the 200 meters at the Section 8 League Meet #3 on April 20, improving from her previous best of 28.34 set in April 2026. The freshman ranks #61 in New York state and #5 among freshmen, finishing 3rd of 331 competitors. Agesin also set a personal record in the long jump, improving from 13-3 to 15-7.
Ava Kobylarz (Lansing) cleared 11-1 in the pole vault at the Blue Devil Moravia Relays on April 24, bettering her previous mark of 10-3. The sophomore won the event among 11 competitors and ranks #15 in the state and #1 among sophomores.
Brooklyn Gordon (Corning, Painted Post) clocked 12.91 in the 100 meters at the Waite / Molnar Invitational at Elmira High School on April 24, improving from 13.43. The senior placed 3rd of 21 competitors and ranks #139 in New York.
Aubree Valdes (Victor Central) ran 2:25.33 in the 800 meters at the Attica Boosters Club Track and Field Invitational on April 24, cutting her previous best from 2:31.08 set in May 2025. She won the event among 47 competitors and ranks #128 in the state.
Serafina Battuello (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) ran 10:43.33 in the 3000 meters at the Luciano Memorial Invitational on April 25, improving from 10:59.92 set in January 2026. The freshman finished 4th of 28 competitors and ranks #97 in New York and #17 among freshmen.
Maggie Zito (Ballston Spa) clocked 4:57.73 in the 1500 meters at the Luciano Memorial Invitational on April 25, bettering her previous mark of 5:06.24 from April 2026. The senior placed 4th of 43 competitors and ranks #147 in the state. Zito also set a personal record in the 800 meters, improving from 2:28.42 to 2:24.38.
Mikayla Johnson (Southwestern, Jamestown) threw 42-0.75 in the shot put at Olean-SWCS, Alleg-Limes-Port on April 21, improving from 40-8.25 and setting a school record. The senior won the event among 19 competitors and ranks #2 in New York state.
