Manhattan Completes Day One at St. Valentine Invitational

BOSTON - Several members of the Manhattan College women's track & field turned in impressive performances on day one of the St. Valentine Invitational from Boston University's Track & Tennis Center on Friday.

Emmy Koskinen (Sodertalje, Sweden) had the best showing by a Manhattan athlete.  She placed third in the 500 meters in a time of 1:15.21.  Heidy Palacios (Yonkers, N.Y.) took fourth in the 400 meters (56.31) and Ashley Bowman (Elmont, N.Y.) was sixth in the 200 meters (25.14).  In the pole vault, Melissa Yap (Orchard Park, N.Y.) cleared 3.35 meters (10'11¾) to finish fourth.

The meet continues on Saturday with the men's events.
