Straneva Lands Spot On Team USA

Junior Men's 8k Results
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Freshman Max Straneva of the Syracuse University cross country team earned a spot on Team USA at the 2011 USA Cross Country Championships in San Diego on February 5.
The Binghamton, N.Y. native took second place in the junior men's 8k race with a time of 24:57, just nine second behind the top finisher. The Cross Country Championships served as the trial race to select Team USA. Straneva will represent the Orange at the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, to be held in Punta Umbria, Spain on March 20, 2011.
“We are very proud of Max,” said head cross country coach Chris Fox.
“He will be representing the USA at the World Championships in Spain, which is a very big honor.”
