SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Tasha Harris (Bronx, N.Y.) of the women's basketball team and junior Darryl White (Detroit, Mich.) of the track & field team are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 24, 2011.

Harris is a starting guard for the Orange, leading the team with 71 assists while averaging 4.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Against Rutgers, she matched a career-high with six rebounds and dished out a season-high 10 assists as part of a program-record tying 30 against St. Francis (Pa.) earlier this season. Harris ranks fourth on the SU career assists chart with 463 through 115 games while ranking seventh with a 4.0 assist per game average.

Harris, a child and family studies major, and the Orange host Pittsburgh on Wednesday, January 26 at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome before entertaining South Florida on Saturday, January 29 at 1 p.m.

White is a sprints specialist who notched BIG EAST and IC4A qualifying marks in the 100-meter dash during his freshman season. He also ran as part of an Orange 4x100 relay team that posted an NCAA Regional qualifying mark during the 2010 outdoor season. White enters the 2010 outdoor season with a personal-best 10.83 in the 100m dash.

White, a social work major, and the Orange will compete at the Penn State National meet in Happy Valley, Pa. on Saturday, January 29.
