Meet Schedule

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University track & field team will compete at the Cornell Upstate Challenge on Saturday, January 22 at Barton Hall. The meet will also include teams from Cornell, Binghamton, Buffalo, Cortland State and Ithaca College. Action will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude around 7 p.m.

The meet will mark SU's first competition of the 2011 indoor track & field season and provide many of the Orange's student-athletes with an opportunity to return to a competitive mindset.

Among Saturday's competitors is junior Ieva Staponkute, who qualified for the 2010 BIG EAST Indoor Championship in the triple jump. Senior Kelsey Rubeor returns to compete in the pentathlon, which she earned an eighth-place finish in at last year's BIGE EAST Championship.

On the men's side, Kwaku Boah will compete in the throwing events. He finished third in the weight throw at last year's conference championship. Hurdler Matt Callanan, who qualified for the IC4A Championship last season, will also look to help the Orange at Cornell.

Following the Upstate Challenge, the Orange will compete in the Penn State National on January 29.
