SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Redshirt-freshman Sean Keefe (Churchville, Pa.) of the Orange men's cross country team and volleyball student-athlete, senior Mindy Stanislovaitis (West Chester, Ohio), are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 8, 2010.

Keefe helped the Orange capture its second consecutive BIG EAST Championship on Oct. 30. He finished 34th out of 118 runners with a time of 26:20.4 in the 8k race. SU is currently ranked second in the Northeast Region and 17th nationally.

Keefe, a newspaper and online journalism major, and the Orange will head to Madison, Conn. on Saturday, Nov. 13 to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional meet, hosted by Yale and Fairfield.

Stanislovaitis has registered 226 kills and 61 blocks this season. As an outside hitter, she has helped the Orange record an overall record of 22-7, including the best start in program history at 17-0. She has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each semester at SU and the BIG EAST All-Academic Team following all three seasons.

Stanislovaitis, a dual major in advertising and marketing, and the Orange will play the last two matches of the regular-season at home this weekend. SU will take on Cincinnati on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and Louisville on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Women's Building. Stanislovaitis and two other Orange seniors will be honored prior to the start of Sunday's match.
