Princeton women win Heps again

NEW YORK - Tigers, Tigers, still burning bright.

   The William Blake theme of 1794 was true all over again at Van Cortlandt Park on the final Friday of October 2010.

    The Princeton Tigers scorched the historic Van Cortlandt course, racing to both team and individual victories in the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships,

    Just two members of the Ivy’s Ancient Eight had ever run off with the quadruple at the Heps - the Cornell men led by individual winner Brian Clas and the Ithacans’ women paced by Laura Woeller in 1993, and Princeton’s own men led by Michael Maag and the Tiger women by Liz Costello in 2007.

  But the 2010 Tigers came to Van Cortlandt intent on writing their own chapter in the Heps’ lengthy record book and lived up to every one of their expectations.
