Weekend roundup 9-07 | Chad Noelle and Tim Luthin win road races | Ubriaco opens with win

Weekend Highlights:

Competing at The Fonda-Fultonville Invitational, Burnt Hills-Balston Lake senior Otis Ubriaco and teammate Kevin Terbush placed 1-2 in 16:18 and 16:22.

Meanwhile, further south in Section 9, The Arlington boys and girls swept the team titles at The Washingtonville Wizard Invitational.  Arlington's Eddie Merenda opened up with a 15:46 effort to win by 23 seconds over Justin Maguire from Brewster.  Both runners are much approved from last cross country season.

Valley Central's Holly Cavaluzzo won the girls title at Wizard in 18:42 but Arlington still topped the host school 42-97.

At Niskayuna XC Ekiden, a relay style meet, Mike Libruk of Shaker set a new split record for the 1.55 mile course beating last year's mark set by Danny Harris of Shenendehowa.  The Shaker boys and Niskayuna girls won the varsity relays.

At the McDaniel-Baxter Invitational over in Section 4, Colin Staiger of Chenengo Forks won the hilly 5K course in 18:01 while Sydney Williams of Susquehanna ran a very nice 19:27 for the win.
