ITHACA, N.Y. -- Six members of the Cornell men's track and field team were honored by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their work on the track and in the classroom by earning a spot on the 2010 All-Academic Team, the organization announced on Thursday. The six Cornellians are among the 357 athletes honored by the USTFCCCA.

Cornell's six include Bob Belden, Adrien Dannemiller, Nick Huber, Brett Kelly, Duane Teixeira and Rick Zamora, and made up more than one-quarter of the total number of Ivy League honorees. The six for Cornell are the most of all Ivy League schools, with Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale each placing five athletes on the team. Brown had three honorees with Harvard putting a pair on the list.

To be eligible for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Champsionships, including the preliminary rounds, in their respective events.
