It's been a busy indoor Season, and the records have been under threat since Day 1. However, some have been more so than others.
Starting with our youngest athletes, we looked at the Final Season bests by Freshman this year, and graded how close they were to breaking the Freshman State Record.
Unlike the Boys, it was the Field Events that took the crown for the girls. Jenna Swick of Webster Schroeder was only five inches off breaking that State Record. Schroeder is a storied program, as they own the Triple Jump Overall State Record. She was also only 1 of 3 freshman to podium at States, taking 4th overall in the LJ. As for the Track, it's Ellie Roberts (South Jefferson) who came closest, seven seconds off Tuohy's Record. Both are big jumps when adjusted for standard deviation.
