NYC area running camp starts today

The Westchester Track Club, coached by Mike Barnow, will once again be hosting a summer running camp open to all high school students.  The program will meet at the famed Rockefeller State Park, one of the country's premier training spots.

 

The program meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights and Saturday mornings.  Athletes will get a chance to run and train with coach Barnow and all of the athletes he coaches, many of which are professional runners from Africa.

ABOUT THE CLUB

Since its founding in 1973, the Westchester Track Club has been one of the premier running clubs in the state of New York and nationwide. Under the coaching of founder Mike Barnow, multinational Olympic aspirants and recreational runners alike have enjoyed great success on the track and roads.

 

The Westchester Track Club has captured numerous team and individual championships on both the club circuit and national scene throughout its more than 30 years of existence. In light of its success in developing its athletes, the Westchester Track Club has been recommended to be awarded USATF Elite Development Club designation for the next Olympic quadrennium, 2009-2012.
