Several New York high school athletes set personal records at major national indoor meets on March 12.
Paul Lee (Roslyn) threw 64-2 in the weight throw at Nike Indoor Nationals, improving from his previous best of 57-11.5. The mark ranks #18 in New York state and set a school record for Roslyn. Lee placed 26th of 63 competitors.
Hayden Cornell (Ithaca) threw 68-9.5 in the weight throw at Nike Indoor Nationals, bettering his previous personal record of 63-0.5. Cornell ranks #9 in New York state and placed 18th of 63 competitors while setting a school record for Ithaca High School.
Lily Nelson (Spence School) ran 2:16.48 in the 800 meters at Nike Indoor Nationals, dropping from her previous best of 2:26.84. The time places her #63 in New York state and she finished 52nd of 122 competitors.
Elijah McLeod (Colonie) clocked 48.96 in the 400 meters at New Balance Nationals Indoor, improving from his February 2026 personal record of 49.67. McLeod ranks #32 in New York state and placed 47th of 220 competitors.
Jonas Moran (Aviation HS) ran 22.11 in the 200 meters at New Balance Nationals Indoor, bettering his previous mark of 22.42. The time ranks #58 in New York state, set a school record for Aviation HS, and earned 92nd place of 192 competitors.
Evan Fraser (Patchogue-Medford) ran 21.84 in the 200 meters at New Balance Nationals Indoor, improving from his previous best of 22.08. Fraser ranks #23 in New York state, set a school record, and placed 42nd of 192 competitors.
Olivia DiGaetano (Connetquot) ran 9:41.17 in the 3000 meters at Nike Indoor Nationals, dropping from her March 2026 personal record of 9:46.79. DiGaetano ranks #12 in New York state, set a school record, and placed 8th of 59 competitors. She also set a personal record in the 2-mile, running 10:23.71 to improve from 10:48.61.
