ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell senior pole vaulter Jason Inzana was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team in men's track and field and cross country, announced on Thursday morning by the organization. Inzana now moves on to the national ballot and is eligible for Academic All-America consideration.

Inzana, a native of Birdsboro, Pa., specialized in the pole vault at Cornell, concluding his Big Red career ranked sixth on the all-time list in the outdoor event. At the 2010 Outdoor Heptagonal Championships, he finished fourth, clearing 16-0 3/4, just a quarter of an inch shy of tying his career best. Inzana also took eighth at the 2010 Indoor Heptagonal Championships back in March. In the classroom, he has a 3.97 grade-point average in bioengineering.

He becomes the ninth Cornell student-athlete this year to be named a first-team Academic All-District selection and appear on the national ballot. To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.30 grade point average with one full year completed at the school.
