Men Finish Strong in Season Finale

The Wagner College Men's Track and Field team had four impressive finishes at the 2010 NYC Qualifying Challenge held at Icahn Stadium this weekend. Senior Kevin Kearney (Haddonfield, NJ/St. Joe's Prep) led the with a 1:59.25 mark in the 800-meter run.

For Kearney, the time was his third-best finish this season. He placed 22nd overall in a field consisting of 56 athletes.

Also adding impressive finishes for the men were sophomore Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep) and sophomore Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY/Longwood). Iannacone placed 18th out of 46 runners in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:06.97, while Spector placed fifth out of 13 athletes in the 5000-meter event. Spector's time was his second-best finish this season.

Junior Philip Nelson (Indianapolis, IN/Governor Dummer Academy) added a season-best finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a 16.63 time.

The event concludes the regular season for the men's team.
