Meet Schedule

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell track and field teams will host their final tune-up and final chance to qualify for the Heptagonal Championships on Saturday with the Cornell Outdoor Invitational at the Robert Kane Athletic Complex. The meet will feature 10 track teams in the final competition before next weekend's Heptagonal Championships at Weaver Stadium in Princeton, N.J.

The Big Red will be playing host to its 10th track meet this season when including the indoor season at Barton Hall. Saturday's meet will get underway with the field events at 11 a.m., with the men's shot put and women's hammer throws leading off. At noon, the other field events will get underway, with the women's high jump, long jump and pole vault opening the action. Activity on the track will also begin at noon, with the running of the men's 3000m steeplechase.

Saturday's meet will serve as the final chance to either qualify for the Heptagonal Championships or to improve seed times. With entries due in on Wednesday, May 5, the Cornell men have the top seed time in five events, with two of those claimed by Duane Teixeira (long jump, triple jump). Chase Aaronson (100m) and Nick Huber (decathlon) also hold the top marks in their events, and Cornell holds the top seed time in the 4x100m relay. On the women's side, the Big Red has the top time in the 4x100m relay, while Natalie Gengel holds the top mark in the pole vault.
