PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Senior Melissa Romero hit a career high and qualified for NCAA Regionals in the high jump with a mark of 1.75m on day one of the prestigious Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field. Romero, who finished tied for third in the event, was also one of five to qualify for the ECAC/IC4A Championships.

Romero was joined by seniors Uhunoma Osazuwa and Annabelle Pellerin in the high jump. Osazuwa earned an ECAC-eligible mark of 1.73m, while Pellerin had a jump of 1.64m.

Senior Curtis Bixler posted his best time of the season in the 3,000m steeplechase on day one of the prestigious Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field. Bixler was one of three to qualify for IC4A/ECAC postseason competition.

Senior Curtis Bixler posted his best time of the season in the 3,000m steeplechase. It was his first IC4A and second BIG EAST qualifying mark of the season with a seventh-place finish and time of 9:07.40 in the steeplechase. He punched his ticket to the BIG EAST Championship last weekend at the Larry Ellis, where he finished in 9:18.94.

Senior Lorraine Hill qualified for the ECAC Championship with an eight-place throw of 42.08m in the javelin. It was her third ECAC-qualifying mark of the season after posting her season-best mark of 42.15m at the Texas Relays earlier this season.

In the distance action, graduate student Nana Sang-Bender ran her second 5,000m run of the season, earning an ECAC-qualifying time of 16:56.08, finishing 21st. Sang-Bender is coming off an NCAA Regional qualifying performance at the Larry Ellis Invitational, where she ran a season-best 16:44.35.

The Orange returns to the oval for day two of the Penn Relays on Friday, beginning with the college women's triple jump at 11 a.m.
