Boah Earns BIG EAST Mark at Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Junior Kwaku Boah led Syracuse at the Cortland Track and Field Classic after becoming the only Orange competitor to earn a BIG EAST qualifying mark. Boah earned a mark of 49.83 in the hammer throw, good for fifth place in the event.
The Orange finished with three event crowns, including junior Liz McCarter, who ran the 1,500-meter run in 4:46.12, and senior Lorraine Hill, who had a mark of 34.72 in the javelin. Junior Leah Testa finished first in the pole vault (3.26m).
Also finishing in the top three in their respective events were freshman Erin Cawley (11:17.17) and sophomore Tricia Wardwell (11:42.07), who finished two, three in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Freshman Aubree Mercure rounded out the top three finishers with a mark of 4.90m in the long jump.
