RESULTS

Charlottesville, VA –
The Wagner College Women's Outdoor Track and Field team had six season-best finishes at the final day of the Lou Onesty Invitational at the University of Virginia on Saturday. Among the top performers is junior Danielle Diodati (Haverhill, MA/Central Catholic), who registered three top-team finishes in the 100 meter dash, the 4x100 meter relay, and the 4x400 meter relay.

Diodati started the Seahawks off on a great note with a 13.50 finish in the 100-meter dash. The time is a new season-best for the Seahawks, bettering the previous mark of 13.63 set by Diodati one week ago. Diodati later joined teammates Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis), Amanda Gland (Woodbury, CT/Nonnewaug), and Francyna Evins (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) in the 4x100 relay. The team finished with a time of 50.87, nearly a second better than the previous season-best.

In the second relay, Diodati paired with Jessica Balling (Seaford, NY/MacArthur), Dawson, and Evins to place seventh out of ten teams in the 4x400-meter relay. Their time of 4:07.24 was seven seconds better than the previous season-best of 4:15.03 set at the Monmouth Invitational.

Balling also provided a top finish in the 800-meter dash, finishing the run in a season-best time of 2:21.57. She placed eighth in the event out of 33 athletes. Freshman Dominique Serpe (Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame Academy) also finished with a personal-best time of 2:31.73 in the event. She placed 25th overall.

Senior Brecken Drager (Loomis, CA/Del Oro) had Wagner's highest finish – placing second in the 1500-meter event with a personal-best time of 4:40.00. Her previous-best was 4:45.44 set on March 27th. Freshman Taylor Frederickson (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) was also impressive in the event, finishing 12th with a 5:05.48 time.

Other impressive finishes include junior Mishelle McNamara (West Covina, CA/West Covina), who finished with a season-best leap of 3.20 meters in the Pole Vault.

The women return to action on Wednesday, April 14th. The Seahawks will host the Wagner Quad at 3:00 PM.
