Charlottesville, VA – Sophomore
Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH/Detroit Mercy) led the Wagner field athletes in the first day of the Lou Onesty Invitational at the University of Virginia on Friday. Taylor finished eighth out of 20 athletes with a 43.88-meter distance in the hammer throw. The mark is a new season-best for the Seahawks.
Freshman
Nicolette Faison (Elmont, NY/Elmont) also provided a person-best in the hammer throw. She finished 11th out of 20 athletes with a 40.86-meter mark. Junior
Samantha Schueschner (Brookfield, CT/Brookfield) and freshman
Miranda Nicoletti (Plainville, NY/C.W. Baker) finished 17th and 18th in the event, with distances of 34.65 meters and 33.97 meters respectively.
Schueschner later registered a season-best mark in the javelin with a 31.05-meter distance. She finished 11th in the event, and improved her previous season-best (29.49) by nearly two meters.
