Orange Looks to Shine at Sun Angel

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Syracuse University track and field teams will compete in the 31st Annual Sun Angel Track Classic, hosted by Arizona State University on Apr. 9-10. The meet will take place at the Sun Devils' Sun Angel Stadium, with most of the events being held all day on Saturday.
Veteran Michael LeBlanc will look to lead the men's contingent, as he will be competing in the 100-meter dash. LeBlanc took home one of two top-10 finishes for the Orange at the Texas Relays, placing eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.49. Graduate student Antoine Clark and sophomore Darryl White are scheduled to join LeBlanc in the 100-meter dash.
Indoor standout Jarret Eaton is slated to run the 200-meter dash for Syracuse, after participating in the preliminary round competition at the Texas Relays. Senior Jon Buice and freshman Tyler McCully will represent the Orange in the 400-meter dash, while Eaton, Amadou Gueye, and Matthew Callanan are set to compete in the 110-meter hurdles. In addition, Callanan will also be the lone representative for the Orange in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the men's field events, Evan Stivala will look to lead the pack in the high jump, as well as in the long jump. Graduate student Bernard Bush will also compete in two jumping events, the long jump and triple jump. Bush finished ninth in the long jump at the Texas Relays with a mark of 7.25m. Throws specialist Kwaku Boah will represent the Orange in the shot put, the discus throw, and the hammer throw. Boah finished 23rd in the weight throw at the CCU Shamrock Invite.
On the women's side, junior Lareea Chisholm will be the lone sprinter for Syracuse, as she is scheduled to compete in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. Fellow junior Kelsey Rubeor will be running the 100-meter hurdles. Rubeor finished second in the heptathlon at the CCU Shamrock Invite earlier this season.
As for the field events, Annabelle Pellerin and Melissa Romero will take to the skies in the high jump, while junior Leah Testa will try her hand in the pole vault. Senior throws specialist Lorraine Hill is set to compete in the javelin. Hill registered a mark of 42.15m in the same event at the Texas relays, placing 12th overall.
