ANNAPOLIS, Md. (4/3/10)— The Colgate University men's track and field team finished second in a tri-meet against Patriot League foes Navy and American at Ingram Field.
Navy won the meet with 205 points, while the Raiders took second with 59 points and American rounded out the three-team field with 36 points.
Colgate's sole event winner was senior
Phil Natoli (Fayetteville, N.Y.) in the 400-meter hurdles. Natoli tied his personal-record time of 53.85, just missing the IC4A qualifying time by .01 of a second. Also scoring was freshman
Preston Hoge (Shaker Heights, Ohio) who took home fourth with a time of 57.02.
Continuing in the hurdles was sophomore
Alex Coco (New Canaan, Conn.) who finished second in the 110-meter with a personal-record time of 15.24. Coco's time is fourth in the Patriot League this season.
In the running events scoring was achieved in the 800-meter run by junior
Jon Knowlton (North Salem, N.Y.) 1:53.78 and senior
Jeremy Fisher (Fredericksburg, Va.) 1:54.55 who finished second and third, respectively. Junior
Pat Galasso (Franklin, Mass.) also grabbed third place points in the 100- and 200-meter dash. Galasso posted a time of 11.71 in the 100m and followed with a time of 24.19 in the 200m.
The 4x100 team of freshmen
Jason Hodge (Alto, Mich.), and
Mike Nieliwodski (Pittstown, N.J.), along with Hoge, and Galasso added second place points, while sophomore
Mitchell Boucher (Rochester, N.Y.) and junior
Mike Lam (Flushing, N.Y.) scored third and fourth for Colgate in the Steeplechase.
Freshman
Andrew Kephart (Lafayette, Calif.), who competed in his first collegiate meet, was Colgate's lone scorer in the filed events placing third in the Pole Vault (3.50m).
The Raiders will continue their outdoor season on April 9-10, at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
