Sophomore Sheena Taylor
FULL RESULTS

Pomona, NJ –
Sophomore Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH/Detroit Mercy) broke Wagner's all-time record in the Shot Put at the women's first outdoor track and field meet of the season at the Richard Stockton Invitational in the Pomona, NJ on Saturday. Taylor took first place in the event, registering a 12.73-meter mark. Her effort bettered an 11-year-old record set by alumni Patricia Bernard in 1999.

At her first outdoor meet this weekend, freshman Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis High) claimed three first-place finishes. First, Dawson took top honors in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 15.58 seconds. She later placed first out of 11 athletes in the Long Jump with a 5.28-meter mark and took first in the Triple Jump with a 11.59-meter leap.

Senior Brecken Drager (Loomis, CA/Del Oro) tacked on two first-place finishes for the Seahawks – taking top honors in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:47.51 and in the 3000-meter run in 10:18.05. She was the only female to break the five minute mark in the 1500-meter event. Finally, junior Mishelle McNamara (West Covina, CA/West Covina) took first place out of nine athletes in the Pole Vault with a 3.05-meter mark.

The Seahawks take part in the Monmouth Invitational next week in Longbranch, NJ. The event is scheduled for March 27th.
