Girls Division II
Whereas the reigning Class D champion headlines Division I, the reigning Class D runner-up headlines Division II.
Violet Bliss enters her senior campaign with plenty of upside, and has a chance to show it against schools much larger than hers. She broke 10-minutes in the 3K just three months ago, a barrier not many girls in her company can say they have broken.
Perennial Class D contender Beaver River is another notable story.
After a third place finish in 2024, the Beavers once again have their sights set on team title #5. Only nine girls' programs have at least five New York State team titles on their shelves. As the numbers suggest, B-R has a shot to become the tenth this fall.
Stay alert for battles between Class B and C teams as well as intersectional battles. With 30-plus teams in the fold, there's bound to be collisions, both literally and figuratively. Contact sport, anyone?
