In the biggest meet the thriving program from Unionville has ever run, they came up big. The Eastern States race at the annual Manhattan Invitational attracts the best teams to a single race. In the mix were the three top-ranked teams from the Northeast US, Saratoga Springs NY, Bay Shore NY, and Bethlehem Central NY. Also in the race were previously ranked teams, includiing St. Basil and Hatboro-Horsham.

It's not just 3rd place, it came with a great trophy and validation that Unionville belongs among the best in the Northeast US


Unionville stepped up and deliverd a third place run behind the top team in the US, Saratoga Springs NY, and the #2 in the Northeast, Bay Shore, NY. Their 182 points were just 43 out of 2nd. In the process, the beat the current NE#3 team, Bethlehem Central NY, along with CA#8 Thousand Oaks CA, and previously ranked Comubia NY, St. Basil, Warwick Valley, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Hatboro-Horsham. Katie Thaeder was Unionville's top finishing, getting 20th in 15:22. St. Basil was 10th with 305 points. Christine Morelli paced St. Basil with a 23rd place finish in 15:27. Her sister Christinea, was 30th in 15:33.

In the Varsity Girls D race, North Penn finished 4th behind the 16:10 by Cheryl Dingham, with teammate Jennifer Schofield a second back in 11th place. In the Varsity A race, Pittsburgh's Taylor Allderdice finished 10th Clara Finley was 12th in 16:08, while teammate Sassi Kerpedjieva was 14th at 16:13.
