Men Complete First Day of Action at NEC Indoor Championships

DAY ONE RESULTS

Landover, MD – The Wagner College Men's Indoor Track and Field team completed the first day of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Indoor Championship presented by Road Runner Sports on Saturday. Monmouth is the early leader in front of Central Connecticut (23) and Long Island (20). Wagner has yet to score a team point.

Among the top performers for the men were sophomore Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY/Longwood) and junior Phil Nelson (Indianapolis, IN/Governor Dummer Academy). Spector finished 16th out of 28 athletes in the 3000-meter run with time of 9:05.58, while Nelson claimed a new team-best in the Long Jump – leaping 5.93 meters. He finished fourth in his flight.

Thirteen more individual champions will be crowned on Sunday as competition begins with the men's pole vault at 12:00 pm.
