SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Eileen Finn (Southington, Conn.) and junior Evan Stivala (Colts Neck, N.J.) have been named the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of February 15, 2010.

Finn is a defender on the women's lacrosse team. She started all 20 games in which she played for the Orange last season, scoring her first career goal against Connecticut. Finn anchored a defensive unit that held opponents to 8.25 goals per game.

Finn is a dual major in sport management and television, radio, film. Syracuse opens its 2010 season this weekend, hosting Colgate, Stanford and LeMoyne in a scrimmage on Friday, February 19 beginning at 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

Stivala is a jumps and multi-events specialist on the track and field team. He placed second in the high jump at last weekend's Binghamton Triangular, clearing 1.85m. Stivala qualified for both the indoor and outdoor BIG EAST Championships last season in the heptathlon and decathalon.

Stivala is enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences. The track and field team heads to New York City for the BIG EAST Championship beginning Saturday, February 20.
