Men's Track Readies For PL Championship at Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. (2/13/10) - The Colgate University men's track and field team closed out its regular season with a strong performance at the Boston University Valentine Invitational.

Junior Andrew Smith (York, Pa.) set a personal-record time of 1:53.90 in the 800-meter run to lead Raiders and was followed by senior Jeremy Fisher (Fredericksburg, Va.), who also posted a personal-record time of 2:28.72 in the 1000-meter run. Smith's time is sixth in the Patriot League this season, while Fisher's time ranks eighth.
 
Senior Phil Nartoli (Fayetteville, N.Y.) won his heat in the 400-meter dash with a personal-record time 50.23, to lead Colgate in the sprinting events. Nartoli's time sits ninth in the Patriot League this season.

The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Graham Tooker (Devon, Pa.), and juniors Dan Schwaibold (Atlanta, Ga.), Jon Knowlton (North Salem, N.Y.) and Smith posted a 3:20.08, the fourth best time in the Patriot League this season.
 
The Raiders will take part in the Patriot League Championships Feb. 19-21.
