New York, NY –
Sophomore Francyna Evins (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) finished one second late of a new Wagner College Indoor Track and Field 400 meter dash record at the Lafayette/Rider Winter Invitational held on Friday at the Armory Indoor Track and Field Center. Evins placed 34th out of 50 athletes with a time of 1:01.76 – approximately one second off of alumni Crystal Cudjoe's 1994 time of 1:00.51.

Junior Jessica Balling (Seaford, NY/MacArthur) matched Evins' impressive day with one of her own – registering a season-best finish in the 500 meter dash at 1:21.18.

Balling later joined freshman Dominique Serpe (Staten Island, NY/Norte Dame), sophomore Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis), and freshman Andrea Dombek (Newington, CT/Northeast Catholic) to claim Wagner's season-best time in the 4x400 meter relay. The four-some finished in 4:13.83 seconds – improving on the previous season-best of 4:17.05 seconds set on January 30th. The Seahawks' 4x800 meter relay team also improved their season-best time from 10:41.48 to 10:26.04.

The Seahawks return to action on February 20th when they travel to the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships held in Prince George, MD.
