Following Week of Saturday, September 23
It's been unseasonably good weather these past two weeks, and the first competitions of September have provided plenty of clarity in the first fresh rankings of the Season. Many of the top teams got their taste of the State Meet at Queensbury, while the smaller schools stayed more local to develop their talent. The usual stalwarts of Sunken Meadow and Bear Mountain saw their first dip into competition, before bigger Invites to be hosted to come soon.
Bethlehem demonstrated they deserved their Pre-Season #1 rankings, dominating Queensbury. East Aurora took a different tact, gliding through the invite to get a feel for the course. Shenendehowa, Saratoga, and Guilderland proved once again Section 2 is the proving ground for Class A competition. Fayetteville-Manlius stayed within Section 3, but by the Speed Ratings, look strong enough to play the biggest challenger to the survivor of the gauntlet of Suburban Council onwards.
