Jordon Quinn Goes NY No. 3 All-Time For The 55 Meter Hurdles

Never has a Hurdle event been this deep in the Indoor Rankings. Trading State Leading performances with some new faces upstate all Season, Jordon Quinn (Freeport), the defending State Champion, managed to put together his best effort less than two weeks out from the big show.

Lining up against a legitimate threat to the National Record from NJ, Quinn blasted a 7.27 performance to take second place at the Eastern States Championship, held at the Armory yesterday. Quinn was the fastest out of the prelims when he cruised to a 7.42, but was beaten by NJ's Yashahya Brown (Washington Township), who unleashed a 7.10 win.

Quinn's mark is the third fastest All-Time by a New Yorker, trailing only State Record Holder Emanuel Joseph (North Rockland '21) at 7.21, and former Record Holder Joe Galeano (Centereach '87) at 7.22.

The New York Leaderboard now holds three of the Top 10 performances ever run over hurdles, setting up a thrilling State Final.
